Participants of the November BECBC Nuclear Engagement Sector Group meeting hosted by Carr’s Engineering and held at Bendalls Engineering in Carlisle, were given access to the company’s immaculate, large-scale engineering facility. Managing Director for Carr’s Engineering, Graham Hartley, shared some of the company’s history and showed visitors the technology used to produce nuclear pressure vessels. Graham was followed by Sean Saunders, Managing Director of Bendalls Engineering, who in addition to welcoming delegates gave an insight into recent and current projects being delivered by the company.
Bendalls Engineering specialises in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels and steel fabrications. The business provides mechanical design, manufacture, assembly, machining, testing to site and works across the oil, gas, petrochemical and nuclear industries.
As part of the afternoon, Emma Jayne Gooch from Sellafield Ltd. and Martin Walkingshaw from LLWR also provided industry updates.
